Hi, My name is Tim. This is my first time blogging so I guess I should start by telling you about myself. I'm a full time student at Malcalester College and a member of the fraternity Phi Beta Kappa. I tend to be a quiet person but I have strong opinions.
Lately, My friends and I have conducted a few protests against the Vietnam War. Nothing too crazy, just going through neighborhoods, ringing door bells for Gene McCarthy, and I also wrote an editorial for the newspaper we have on campus. I hate the war. It's wrong. No one really knows what it's being fought for! "[Is] it a civil war? A war of national liberation or aggression? Who started it and when and why?.... It [is] my view... that you don't make war without knowing why" (40)
The first stage in the Hero Journey is Ordinary World. It's when the hero is at home going about his daily routine. In this post, O'Brien introduces himself to his followers and gives information about himself to anyone who wants to read. Nothing eventful going on except his college life and friends, which are average, ordinary things.
ReplyDeleteHey Tim! You finally got a blogger! Anyway, yeah I remember ringing doorbells, that was so fun! Do you remember that guy who gave us that huge lecture on how much soldiers do and how he went on for, like, ten minutes? hahah He didn't even give Danny a word in. Hilarious, man.
